Second single, 'Simple,' available today
Available today is Tye Newton's second single, Simple. It is the second of 10 songs being released one by one, over a five-week period, building to the complete release of Newton’s debut album, The future isn’t what it used to be., on April 21, 2026.
Newton says:
"'Simple' recalls the early stages of a relationship that feels too unlikely to trust yet too easy to dismiss. Anticipating future uncertainty, the speaker makes a simple commitment to meet future challenges with steadiness, balance, and clarity.
With its odd, five-beat timing, the music attempts to capture that feeling of stumbling eagerly forward—like a waltz that’s skipping beats—into a promising future.
It’s the one song on the record that was essentially finished during the phase of my life that inspired it. The actual recording and production started years later, but the overall song, instrumentation, and arrangement were already planned."
The song can be purchased digitally on various platforms, including Subvert.fm's private alpha platform (where the complete album is already available early, exclusively to cooperative members) and Bandcamp, and is also available on various streaming platforms, including Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify, YouTube, and many others.
